Tibetan Autonomous Region – Kumbh Mela, Indian Festival in Allahabad

Photography Project by Jose Jeuland
Jose has launched two photography books, Tibet and Kumbh Mela. It is the beginning of a photography book series.

Tibet: Having waited a long while before embarking on his highly anticipated trip to the Tibetan Autonomous Region in western Sichuan, José Jeuland was ready to be immersed in the culture and life there. Located near India, China and Nepal, the Tibet Autonomous Region is a blend of its own unique culture that is influenced by its neighboring countries.

Kumbh Mela: In 2019, José Jeuland traveled to Allahabad, where the Kumbh Mela, a Hindu pilgrimage festival, was held. Having had the privilege to bear witness to this historical festival, which attracted a gathering of more than 150 million people, he seeks to offer this ethereal experience through his lenses. Encapsulating this multi-sensory experience in this collection through a vivid display of color and diversity, José takes you on his journey of crowd-jostling and merry-making.
