December rhymes with Christmas celebration and I have taken commercial interior photography at Marina Bay Sands Singapore (MBS) for the decoration.
My client who did the installation is based in Dubai and made an impressive structure with stunning details.
Total there were two locations of decoration set-up in MBS Singapore. One was in the middle of all the luxurious brand shops and one at the hotel lobby.
BACKSTORY OF MBS
Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is an integrated resort facing Marina Bay in Singapore. The Las Vegas Sands corporation owns it. The resort includes a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000 square meter convention exhibition center — a 74,000 square meters The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, museum, two large theatres. There are celebrity chef restaurants, two floating Crystal Pavilions, Art Science exhibits, and lastly the world’s largest atrium casino filled with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. Finally, an infinity pool on top of the MBS to overlook Singapore’s skyline view.
My Gears For Interior Photography
I used my FUJIFILM GFX 50R with various lenses and tools to capture the lights decoration structure and the interior of MBS. The GFX is amazing for this kind of photography because its dynamic range is very powerful.
For interior photography, gears are very important
The items I used for photography:
Lens Laowa 17mm f/4 Ultra-Wide GFX Zero-D
GF 120/200mm F4 RLM OIS WR MACRO (For the close-up of the decoration)
GF 32-64mm F4R LM WR
Manfrotto’s MT190CXPRO4 Carbon Fibre Tripod
DETAILS OF THE CHRISTMAS DECORATION
Various decorations at the walkway were leading up to the Christmas tree stationed at the center of the Shoppes. The railing was filled with decorations of Christmas garland wrapped with additional golden ornaments and ribbons to give a grand welcoming to whoever walking around MBS Shoppes.
The Christmas tree decoration consists of various decorations such as musical notes, golden ornaments, and musical instruments. The Trumpets and Violins were placed strategically to elevate the decoration. Beside the tree, a massive reindeer was placed to bring out the Christmas spirit. The reindeer was lit up with yellow lights to liven up the entire area to set the mood.
MBS hotel lobby Christmas tree decoration was as impressive as the one in the Shoppes area. It was a stand-alone tree filled with the same ornament to fully remind the hotel guest about the Christmas spirit too.
I have to photograph at night to get the best of the light decoration and also to have fewer people in my frame. It was fun doing this project. The photography focused on the interior of MBS and the decorations with sometimes multiple exposures. I also did a few close-up shots of the decoration items to show the details and the quality of the decoration work.
