Landscape photography captures the essence, vastness and character of a place. It automatically brings out the topography and physical features and also depicts the flora and fauna of the area. Landscape photography portrays the soul of the outdoors and the spirit of nature. It can include the vastness of the seas, the towering mountains, the rugged plateaus or gentle plains. It is something you may not be able to resist from capturing on your travels.
These photographs featured in Lens Magazine – February 2021 Issue are from my trip to Tibet, West Sichuan, China. Personally, I feel including additional elements in landscape photography such as humans or dwellings gives more meaning and adds to the value of the image. It can help the audience gain an understanding of the time, place and culture.
